KAREN CROSS, PATRICA McINTYRE, IAN RITCHIE, JANICE SCOTT, ANGLEA THOULESS & IAN THOMSON
The Gallowgate 6 are a group of artists who are linked by their professional involvement with the art and visual communications departments at Aberdeen College in the Gallowgate. They produce a diverse range of artwork from classically inspired theatrical portraits from Ian Thomson, Calm marine themed paintings by Ian Ritchie, expressive urban scenes from Angela Thouless, mixed media paintings inspired by mythology from Pat McIntyre, Illustration and creative textile work from Karen Cross and Janice Scott. This is an exhibition that shows the much respected traditional drawing and painting skills are still very much alive and well in this age where technological and conceptual art dominates the arts scene.
