People are fascinating. Our behaviour both as individuals and as a society in this arguably brave new world inspires my work.
This exhibition includes five pieces that take a wry look at the no-longer-extreme measures we employ to protect our possessions: images from South Africa, where private security has become the fastest growing industry, demonstrate the extent to which security has affected the infrastructure and daily life.
Closer to home - graffiti (make soup not war) spotted on a wall near Crown Street in Aberdeen led to Mushroom Soup. Finally, my most brightly-coloured piece, All fall down, evolved from perhaps the darkest of thoughts - concerning populations (growing/cloned) and plagues both medieval and modern.
